Dr. Shala Salem is a distinguished fertility specialist with a passion for integrative medicine. Graduating with honors in psychobiology and neuroscience from the University of California-Los Angeles, she pursued her medical education at St. George’s University School of Medicine. Following this, Dr. Salem completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at New York’s esteemed Brooklyn Hospital Center. In 2009, she joined Pacific Reproductive Center, bringing her expertise and compassionate care to our team.
Dr. Salem firmly believes in the holistic approach to infertility treatment, emphasizing the crucial connection between body and mind. For her, successful treatment extends beyond medical intervention to encompass nutrition, exercise, and emotional well-being. She advocates for an active partnership between patient and doctor, prioritizing empathetic listening as the cornerstone of care.
Areas of Practice
Recently, Dr. Shala completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona, studying under the guidance of renowned physician Dr. Andrew Weil. Integrative Medicine, which evaluates how lifestyle factors influence health, aligns seamlessly with Dr. Salem’s philosophy. Outside of her professional endeavors, she cherishes quality time with her husband and three children. Dr. Salem finds joy in preparing wholesome meals, engaging in creative pursuits such as crafting and painting, and nurturing her overall well-being.
